Cob is composed of 4 basic ingredients:
- Clay subsoil
- Aggregate (sand/gravel)
- Fibre: fresh straw (never hay!)
- Water
To get the strongest, most durable structures most sources say that cob should contain roughly 15-25% clay and 75-85% sand/aggregate.
